Name |
Sorcerer's Guild |
| Headquaters |
Since the headquarters in Sailaag was destroyed by Zanaffer, the guild
has no central HQ. Each branch runs itself, now. |
| Management |
Each branch is managed by magicians, who are engaged in the study of
sorcery. Because they are busy with their research, the staff often
knows little of the events outside of the Guild. |
| Business |
The Sorcerer's Guild was founded for the purpose of magical education. Therefore, they
earn their money by teaching the basic theory of magic, and offering books of magic for readers. With this income, they maintain
the Guild and research new magical spells and techniques. However, only
basic theory and concept is taught; only the most harmless spells are
passed on to students. In addition, they serve as a clearing house for
jobs for sorcerers, provide the public with long-distance communication,
sell magical items to the public, and pass on newly-created white magic
spells to various shrines and priesthoods. For a small fee, of course. |
| Colors of Robes |
When a sorcerer first registers with the Sorcerer's Guild, he is
assigned a certain color to indicate his rank. For example, apprentices
usually get the color gray. In addition, magicians that occupy the
highest positions in the guild, or those that have performed excellent
work, may be awarded a title of color, which has nothing to do with
rank. In the novels, only four sorcerers appear with an indication of
their title of rank: Tarim the Violet, Damiar the Blue, Halcyform the
White, and, er... Lina the Pink. No, really. |
