| Explanation | These spells change the air pressure with the energy that is drawn by the incantation, and control the air. Spells in this group either create a vacuum or compress air. The former controls the wind, and creates a crack in the air that can be a blade of vacuum, such as Bram Fang; the latter compresses air and the user either releases it or surrounds himself or herself with. Both spells are hard to see because they're made of air. A few of these magic spells control both air and fire at the same time... the basic spells of lightning. |

| With this spell, the magician covers himself with a small shield of air and flies rapidly. Think of it as a highly strengthened version of Levitation. The maximum velocity, weight and altitude are directly propotional to the magical power of the caster and inversely to each other. In other words, the lower the user flies, the faster he or she can fly. The shield of air created by Raywing has protective power, but the user must maintain his concentration while using this spell. Unlike Levitation, it is extremely difficult to use another magic spell simultaneously with Raywing. Because it is relatively more difficult to control, Raywing is falling out of common usage. | ||

| With this spell, the magician creates a shield of air. Unlike Air Valm, Windy Shield can make a spherical wall all around the user. Most of the generic shield spells in Slayers are actually this spell. If there are several magicians present who can use this spell, they can layer the shields of air and make a very strong barrier. If the user is standing on the ground, however, he or she is still vulnerable to attacks from belos. It is impossible to cast this spell at the same time as another spell, as it requires a great deal of concentration. | ||
